Farmingdale Presbyterian Women’s Association
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…*
I love our Circles, Abigail & Ruth. A circle represents totality, wholeness, original perfection, infinity, eternity, timeless feminine energy, Mother Earth.
I love our Faith Friends. Angie, Jenica, Betty, Wendy, Pat & Pat & Pat, Carolyn, Kathy, Carol & Carol, Sharon & Sharon, Julia, Maebeth, Judy, Sherry, Donna, Ann, Susie, Lonna, Esther, Marialyce,
I love our lessons. We use Presbyterian Women’s Horizons Bible Study material. A few recent annual lessons have included Come to the Waters, Reconciling Paul, An Abiding Hope, Dispatches to God’s Household, Confessing the Beatitudes and Who Is Jesus?. AND, our own Farmingdale Presbyterian Women served as the premier field testers for the current Bible study! We are so proud!
I love our incredible food. The morning circle loves coffee cake, fresh fruit, egg casseroles, quiche, muffins, and donuts. The evening circle savors scrumptious deserts and battles over cashews!
I love our projects. Our hands unite to make Alzheimer’s quilts, Linus quilts, isolette quilts, stuffed animals, Sole Hope sandals and medical supplies for clinics in Uganda, blanket kits, dresses & shorts for Africa, CWS School and Clean Up kits, and surgery caps, pillow cases, and comfort twin dolls & hearts (for preemies separated from moms) all for St. John’s pediatric surgery unit.
I love our support for missions. In recent years we have provided financial support for The Thank Offering, Mercy (Mentors, Empowerment and Resource for Change in Young Families), Contact Ministries, mosquito nets for Malaria Prevention Program, nurses’ uniforms, Heifer Fund, Inner City Mission, The Parent Place, Kumler Ministries, International Generational, Sustainable Health, Contact Ministries, Sojourn House, Salvation Army, Presbyterian Disaster Relief Fund, Helping Hands, Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery, SERRV, PWA Together In Service Project, Health Kits for Church World Service, Kemmerer Village…just to name a few!
I love how we have fun! At the Celebration for Women of All Ages we have enjoyed trivia, a detailed demonstration of the life of a civil war soldier, the Purse & Hat Lady, a depiction of the life of Mary Lincoln, a wedding gown style show by our own members, and the magic of the Great Randini!
I love the depth of our conversations, our compassion for our love of our Lord, and our shared prayers for health, healing and hope.
I love the prospect of new members! Please consider joining us at any of our first Wednesday of the month meetings, morning or evening. Details are in the Sunday bulletin or contact the office to connect with us.
